Arnold was born in 1911 in Silverdale, Ontario.He graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1948. He was very successful with his shows and commissions in the 50’s and 60’s including a portrait of Lady Eaton. He had shows with David Milne, Duncan MacPherson and Franklin Arbuckle. He developed Deerfoot Pioneer Art Settlement in Leaskdale and ran a summer art school there in the mid 60’s and 70’s.His gallery was officially opened in 1965 by A.J. Casson and attended by Frederick Varley. He excelled in every medium. It is an honour to have this work shown in the hamlet where many of his pieces were created.
