On the accession of Edward VIII, January 1935, L. M. Montgomery wrote to her pen-pal, George MacMillan, “Isn’t it odd that there is a King but no Queen? I doubt if he will ever marry now. If not, I believe there will be another ‘Queen Elizabeth’ one day.”  This year the Lucy Maud Montgomery Society of Ontario has decided to celebrate Maud’s prediction with the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth’s reign as our theme on our annual L.M.M. Day.  Please join us for a full day of “Royal” activities for the entire family crowned by a delectible roast beef dinner and show spotlighting 60 years of Volunteerism in Uxbridge.  Our exciting program of speakers, activities and entertainers is now confirmed.  Please visit our Calendar of Events page.
