Thursday evening, the 28th of June, Lucy Maud Montgomery, played by Jennifer Carroll, returned to the Historic Leaskdale Church.  Members of the audience, including myself, were awe-struck by Ms. Carroll’s exquisite performance in the same church where Montgomery herself gave readings, directed Young People’s Guild performances and supported her husband Ewan’s ministerial duties.  Maud of Leaskdale is an original one-woman play conceived and directed by Uxbridge’s own Conrad Boyce, and produced by the Lucy Maud Montgomery Society of Ontario.   Showtimes are Thursday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm or a Sunday matinee perfomance at 3:00pm. Tickets are only $20.00 and are available at The Leaskdale Country Store, Blue Heron Books or by calling 905-904-0977.  This play will have its final performance on the 3rd of September, so please plan to witness this unforgettable performance at the venue it was conceived for, before it’s too late!
